How we intend to use the clip:
- Slow Motion
This will make it easier for the audience to see what is happening, every little detail of the guy's dreamlike state. - Normal Speed
- Rewinding the Clip
The use of this will show things in reverse, as well as giving us the option whether to have her coming out of the water or falling into it.

Hooting & Howling- Wild Beasts
"Hooting & Howling is equal parts statement of intent and the celebration of a state of mind." taken from Youtube
Under water shooting is obviously not achievable but through cross fades/dissolves you could achieve this effect. I'd focus on images of water and reflection thus communicating a confusion between illusion and reality. Remember health and safety is important, if the Examiners think you have taken risks then marks will be deducted. You will need to carefully explain in a post how you and Charlie are going to achieve the girl falling into the water. This action can be done safely but we need to have detailed planning before we can OK it. One student some years ago did have the main character in the music video falling backwoods into a swimming pool.
ReplyDeleteThe ideas you and Charlie were putting together last Wednesday evening were very interesting, what I'd suggest you and Charlie do is to start some experimental filming which you can upload onto your blog, I think lots of practice is going to be required to pull your ideas off. Don't leave anything till the last minute because you know what that means!!! Filming in the school grounds as the deadline for the shoot looms. So practice stills of locations, costume etc and story board. It would be great if you could both consruct a Level 4 music video.
Could you start constructing a mood board and story boards so that you remain focused. Also shots of possible locations, costume and etc. Your coursework booklet has guidance. I want to see your ideas taking a more concrete cinematic form Ta
